Saturday School is So Cool at Johnson!

Ask for More Jackson is proud to be the convening partner with schools in the Lanier Pattern since 2000.  Saturday School is just one of the initiatives sponsored and supported by Ask for More Jackson. On Saturday, February 2, 2019, 138 selected scholars attended the first 2019 Saturday school at Johnson Elementary, Dawson Elementary, Galloway Elementary, Walton Elementary, Smith Elementary, and Brinkley Middle School. The mission of Saturday School is to provide extended practices and strategies in reading and math to advance scholars’ knowledge in these content areas.

Parents are commended for making sure that scholars arrive on time and ready to learn on a Saturday morning!

Ask for More Jackson has five more Saturday School dates scheduled to motivate and elevate students as they prepare for state testing this year. If you don’t think Saturday School is cool, just ask scholars from these schools.

When we celebrate Black History Month, the well-deserved recognition is given to historical figures and entities.  In the spirit of UBUNTU, Ask for More Jackson believes that recognition should also be given to the students, parents, teachers, and administrators who walk in the footsteps of our past as they work to build a better future.
